Liane G. Benning

Prof. Dr. Liane G. Benning is a Professor and Head of the Section 3.5 Interface Geochemistry at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam. Her research focuses on biogeochemical processes at mineral-water-biotic interfaces, with emphasis on weathering dynamics of carbonate and basaltic rocks. She leads the DEVENDRA ERC Advanced Grant (2023–2028), investigating vegetation-erosion interactions in weathering systems.
