Dr Liam O'Hare is a Principal Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast's School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, and Director of QUB Innovation Zones and STRIDE Consultants. He holds an Extraordinary Associate Professorship at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. His work focuses on social and educational innovation, particularly improving outcomes for disadvantaged communities through evidence-based programs.
Education: PhD in Psychology, CPsychol (Chartered Psychologist), FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy).
Research Interests: Design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs; community-based participatory research; social and emotional learning; wellbeing; randomized controlled trials; and policy impact. He has secured over £5 million in research funding and managed over 20 projects, supervising 20+ students and staff. His Innovation Zones initiative partners with disadvantaged communities in Belfast to co-produce research for social impact.
