Dr. John McMullen is a Senior Lecturer and full-time Programme Director of the Doctorate in Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology (DECAP) at Stranmillis University College (SUC). He is a practicing Educational Psychologist within the Education Authority Northern Ireland (EA NI) and holds chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
- Education: BSc in Psychology from Queen's University Belfast (QUB), PGCE from Stranmillis University College, and DECAP doctorate (2012).
- Research: Focused on school-based interventions for war-affected children in Uganda and DR Congo, refugee pupil integration in Northern Ireland, and mental health policy.
- Publications: 15 recent works spanning educational neuroscience, trauma support, and systemic school interventions.
- Awards: Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PR155588).
- Community Roles: Director/Trustee of Fields of Life and Links Counselling Service.
- Peer Review: Journals include Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Social Science and Medicine, and Journal of Traumatic Stress.
