Kevin Dyer

Dr. Kevin Dyer is a Senior Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. He serves as Academic Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has held leadership roles such as Head of Adult Mental Health Psychology at Northern HSC Trust and Psychology Lead of the Northern Ireland Regional Trauma Network. His expertise spans Complex PTSD, Troubles-related trauma, OCD, and innovative therapy interventions like virtual reality exposure.

Education:

• BSc Psychology (QUB, 1997–2000)
• PhD Psychology (QUB, 2000–2004)
• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (QUB, 2004–2007)

Research Interests: Focuses on Complex Trauma/PTSD treatment, Troubles-related trauma in Northern Ireland, OCD attentional bias, therapy outcomes, and data linkage methodologies. He advocates for phase-oriented therapy and virtual reality paradigms in clinical practice.

Awards: Recipient of the prestigious May Davidson Award (2015), Praxis Prize (2008), and multiple Northern HSC Trust awards for clinical excellence and service innovation.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Northern Ireland Regional Trauma Network and contributes to the QUB Clinical Psychology Doctorate program.
