Prof. Dr. Li Deng is a faculty member at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), holding the Chair Professor (W3) of Microbial Disease Prevention since 2022. She serves as Director of the Central Institute of Disease Prevention at TUM since 2023, and leads a Young Investigator Group at the Helmholtz Centre Munich's Institute of Virology. Her research focuses on phage-bacterial interactions using single-cell technologies, multi-omics, and machine learning to develop phage-based therapeutics for microbiome restoration.
