Dr. Levent Yilmaz is a Senior Scientist at the University of Salzburg's Department of Business Human Resource Management, within the Faculty of Law, Business and Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt and an MSc. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor in Experimental Economics and Human Resource Management at the University of Innsbruck (2012–2017) and as a long-term DAAD lecturer at the Turkish-German University (TDU) in Istanbul. His research focuses on Human Resource Management, Behavioural and Experimental Economics, Migration and Labour Market Entry, Entrepreneurship, and Quantitative Methods.
Dr. Yilmaz’s work bridges theoretical and applied economics, addressing topics such as pay transparency’s impact on gender disparities, non-cognitive skills of immigrants, and reproducibility in management science. He contributes to both teaching and research at the University of Salzburg, emphasizing evidence-based approaches. His recent publications (2021–2024) explore labor market dynamics, experimental economics, and policy implications of transparency reforms.
His academic career demonstrates a commitment to international collaboration and interdisciplinary research, with notable contributions to understanding labor market behavior and migration economics.
