Dr. Lesley McGregor is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Stirling’s Division of Psychology, Faculty of Natural Sciences. She co-directs the Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology and holds affiliations with the UCL Qualitative Health Research Network. Her career includes a PhD from Stirling (2010) on living organ donation psychology and postdoctoral research at UCL focusing on bowel cancer screening interventions.
Her research investigates:
- Strategies to improve cancer screening uptake (e.g., fecal tests, sigmoidoscopy)
- Liver disease prevention and transplant well-being
- Health communication through narrative-based interventions
- Reducing socioeconomic disparities in healthcare access
Recent publications emphasize randomized trials for screening adherence and behavioral interventions. Professional recognitions include HCPC registration and BPS Associate Fellowship. She actively recruits PhD students for health psychology projects and contributes to national screening program improvements.
