Leonhard Huhn (*1986, Berlin) serves as a Jazz saxophone professor at the University of Music Würzburg (Hochschule für Musik Würzburg), where he teaches in the Jazz Department located at Residenzplatz. His consultation hours are available by appointment, and he maintains an active profile within one of Germany's most traditional jazz departments.
Prof. Huhn graduated from the Cologne University of Music and Performing Arts in 2012, establishing a foundation for his multifaceted career that spans performance, composition, and education. His artistic development reflects the rigorous training typical of Germany's prestigious music conservatories.
Huhn's artistic work is characterized by a flexible, experimental, and melodic playing style that seamlessly combines jazz, contemporary music, electroacoustic sound performance, improvisation, and krautrock. He has developed a novel electronic, modularly controllable setup for the saxophone, positioning him at the forefront of instrumental innovation. As a key figure in the "Krautjazz" movement, his work bridges European jazz traditions with contemporary experimental approaches, creating a distinctive musical voice that resonates across the international music landscape.

Prof. Huhn leads his own trio DIE FICHTEN and the collectives Impakt Köln and Headless Society. His extensive collaborative network includes work with Fo[u]r Alto, Stefan Schultze Large Ensemble, Colonel Petrov's Good Judgement, Simon Nabatov, Jürgen Friedrich, Frank Gratkowski, Morton Subotnick, and many other prominent figures in contemporary music.
At the University of Music Würzburg, Huhn contributes significantly to maintaining the institution's reputation as a center for innovative jazz education while honoring its rich traditions.
