Dr. Leo L. Han is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he provides full-spectrum obstetric and gynecologic care at the Center for Women’s Health. His clinical focus includes contraception, medical management of bleeding, and sexually transmitted infections. He completed his medical training at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (MD, 2010), residency at the University of Colorado, and a Family Planning fellowship at OHSU (2017), where he also earned an MPH (2016).
Dr. Han's research spans reproductive health and family planning with emphasis on:
- Non-hormonal contraceptive discovery
- Cervical mucus regulation as a contraceptive target
- Effects of progestogens on the endocervix
- Digital health information's impact on abortion and contraception perceptions
His recent publications (2021-2025) demonstrate strong focus on:
- Contraceptive mechanisms and efficacy studies
- Cervical mucus biophysics
- Public perception of reproductive health issues
- COVID-19 vaccination impacts on menstrual health
- Digital health misinformation analysis
Honors include the Reproductive Scientist Development Program (RSDP) K12 scholarship. He co-directs OHSU's resident research program and collaborates with:
