Prof. Dr. Lenny Winkel is a Full Professor at ETH Zurich's Department of Environmental Systems Science and Deputy Head of the Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics. She holds a Master's in Geology from Utrecht University (2000) and a PhD in Earth Sciences from ETH Zurich (2006). Her research focuses on the environmental behavior of selenium and other trace elements, including marine phytoplankton's role in selenium cycles and atmospheric selenium deposition's climatic influences.
