Research Interests: Her work focuses on respiratory diseases, immune mechanisms in asthma and COPD, and health impacts of urban PM2.5 exposure. She investigates epithelial cell responses to viruses like rhinovirus and SARS-CoV-2, alongside PM2.5's effects on vascular and pulmonary systems.
Publications: Recent articles highlight rhinovirus-induced inflammation, T2 cytokine modulation in asthma, PM2.5's physicochemical effects, and vascular impacts of airborne particles. Key disciplines include Respiratory Medicine, Immunology, and Aerosol Science.
Projects: She leads a Swedish Research Council-funded initiative on asthma progression via epithelial alarmins and collaborates on PM2.5 toxicity studies with researchers like Bergman, Isaxon, and Ohlsson.
Supervision: Lena mentors doctoral candidates
