Leif Atle Beisland is Professor of Financial Analysis at the Department of Economics and Finance, School of Business and Law, University of Agder. He holds a PhD in Accounting from NHH Norwegian School of Economics and maintains an active research profile focused on financial analysis and microfinance. Previously, he worked professionally as an auditor at Ernst & Young and as a risk manager/portfolio manager at Agder Energi.

Professor Beisland's research spans two primary domains: 1) Value relevance of accounting information and accounting standards' impact on corporate hedging strategies, and 2) Microfinance performance measurement and inclusion mechanisms for vulnerable populations. Methodologically, he employs global surveys, econometric analysis, and case studies across developing economies.
