Terje Heskestad is a Professor at the Department of Economics and Finance, School of Business and Law, University of Agder. He holds a PhD in Accounting from NHH Norwegian School of Economics and serves as Head of Executive Education. Additionally, he maintains adjunct positions at NHH and Deloitte, leveraging 15 years of part-time experience from Deloitte as an auditor and advisor in accounting standards and financial management.
Heskestad's research focuses on enhancing the user relevance of accounting systems and optimizing periodic reporting for management decision-making. Key research areas include:
- Norwegian and international accounting frameworks (NGAAP/IFRS)
- Accounting theory and earnings management
- Performance measurement systems
- Cash flow optimization and Beyond Budgeting methodologies
His publications (2014-2018) predominantly explore financial reporting efficacy, accounting standards criticism, and corporate financial anomalies.
