Leidy Klotz is the Copenhaver Associate Professor at the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science, within the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment. His research bridges engineering and behavioral science to advance sustainable systems, supported by over $10 million in NSF grants, including a CAREER Award and an INSPIRE Program Award. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored two books, including Subtract (2021). Klotz is a leader in interdisciplinary initiatives like the Convergent Behavioral Science Initiative and co-chaired Nature Sustainability's Expert Panel. He advises 25 PhD students, emphasizing diversity, with over 75% from underrepresented groups.
