Dr. Lee Montgomery is a Professor of Graduate Education at Southern Utah University (SUU), where he has served since 1989. He holds a Master of Education from East Central University and a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas. His career spans teaching, school leadership, and impactful educational initiatives.
Montgomery specializes in educational leadership, curriculum design, and ethics for educators. He emphasizes fostering critical thinking and effective teaching practices among students. Notable contributions include spearheading SUU's College of Education to achieve National Council for Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation in 2001 and securing a $1.5M State Educational Technology Initiative grant in 1990, establishing SUU's first departmental computer labs.
His teaching philosophy centers on student growth and the transformative power of education, influenced by his fourth-grade teacher who instilled confidence in him.
