Lee Jung

Dr. Lee Jung is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), affiliated with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. Previously, she served as a tenured Associate Professor of Mathematics at Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA, before joining UT Dallas in 2009.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Louisiana State University

Research & Outreach: Her research focuses on probability, statistics, and math education, with a strong emphasis on accessibility. She co-founded Intellichoice, a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to free math tutoring for underprivileged K-12 students, aiming to enhance college readiness and career opportunities. This initiative led to her receiving the Ambassador of Diversity Award (2011) and the Community Hero Award (2015).

Leadership & Impact: Dr. Lee’s work extends beyond academia, addressing systemic inequities in STEM education through grassroots programs. Her contributions have been recognized by the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement at UT Dallas and Tech Titans.
