Dr. Leanne Howell serves as Senior Lecturer in the EdD in Learning and Organizational Change program at Baylor University's School of Education, following her role as clinical assistant professor in Curriculum & Instruction. She pioneered Baylor's first elementary Professional Development School partnership in Midway ISD (2014), which later earned national recognition.
Her academic credentials include:

- PhD in Urban Education (2010), Texas A&M University
Her research centers on transformative educational frameworks, specializing in organizational change leadership within urban contexts. She developed the innovative 'Social Foundations of Education' course emphasizing the '4Cs'—Collaboration, Creation, Communication, and Critical Thinking—which redefines graduate pedagogy through experiential learning and systems thinking.
Key recognitions include:
- CPED Program of the Year Award (2022) for Baylor's EdD program
- NAPDS Exemplary PDS Achievement Award (2017) for Midway ISD partnership
As a dedicated dissertation chair, she has guided over 35 doctoral candidates through Problem of Practice research while serving on Baylor's Honor Council. Her scholarship bridges theory and practice through sustained K-12 district partnerships focused on equity-driven educational transformation.
She leads ongoing collaborations with Midway ISD and university colleagues to advance professional development school models that integrate research, teaching, and community engagement across educational ecosystems.
