Lawrence T. Siew, MD, MBA, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and serves as the Medical Director of the Children's Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. His academic roles include primary appointments in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and secondary in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Siew holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University (1999), a medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (2005), and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2021). He completed his pediatric residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, serving as chief resident, followed by a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Yale School of Medicine.
His research and clinical interests focus on pediatric emergency care, including the integration of telemedicine to enhance care for seriously ill children, operational efficiency in healthcare systems, and improving patient outcomes through quality and safety initiatives. He is also certified as a Professional Coder with expertise in clinical documentation and billing practices.
Dr. Siew has been recognized with the Ken Graff Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for his innovative work in telemedicine. His professional contributions extend to leadership roles in both clinical and administrative aspects of pediatric emergency medicine, combining clinical practice with academic and healthcare management expertise.
In addition to his clinical and academic duties, Dr. Siew actively participates in professional organizations and continues to advance healthcare delivery through his interdisciplinary approach, blending clinical medicine with healthcare administration and technological innovation.
