Laurynas Lapė

Laurynas Lapė is an Associate Professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) in the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments, where he teaches Trumpet and Orchestral Parts. Fluent in English (C2) and Russian (B2), he combines academic rigor with active performance as a soloist and ensemble member.

Education:

• Klaipėda Stasys Šimkus Conservatoire (1998), studying under Virgilijus Nemaniūnas.
• Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (2002), mentored by Professor Adomas Kontautas.
• Master's Degree from Malmö Academy of Music, Sweden (2005–2009), trained by Professors Bo Nilsson and Hakan Hardenberger.

Research and Artistic Focus:

Lapė specializes in trumpet performance across solo, orchestral, and chamber contexts. His work emphasizes technical mastery, historical repertoire, and pedagogical innovation. He actively performs with ensembles like Vento Musicale and Vilnius Baroque Theatre, and collaborates with orchestras including the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Symphony Orchestra.

Professional Engagements:

• Regularly conducts international masterclasses in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Georgia, and China.
• Performed in prestigious venues and projects, leveraging expertise from training under globally renowned trumpeters like Chris Martin (New York Philharmonic) and Hakan Hardenberger.
