Dr. Laurie Scott is an Associate Professor of Music and Human Learning at The University of Texas at Austin, directing the UT String Project and Musical Lives program. Formerly a middle/high school orchestra director, she advocates for inclusive music education and mentors future string educators. Her work emphasizes accessibility, adult learners, and Suzuki Method training. Recipient of Teaching Excellence Awards and the prestigious Marvin J. Rabin National Award, she co-authored influential pedagogical texts and leads community-focused music initiatives.
