Laurie Cave is a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, based in the Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research (LICTR) within the School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health. Her work integrates qualitative and mixed methods research to develop and evaluate complex interventions, particularly in paediatric long-term conditions, diet, gut health, and self-care.

Her methodological expertise lies in qualitative and mixed methods approaches, intervention development, and outcomes research.
Her recent work, including the EMERALD and Recover Together studies, reflects a growing trend toward inclusive, patient-centred, and co-designed research in surgical and chronic disease contexts. These projects emphasize feasibility, implementation, and patient-reported outcomes using mixed methods frameworks.
