Dr Abi Albutt is a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds School of Medicine, affiliated with the Leeds Institute for Clinical Trials Research. With a PhD in Applied Health Research and an MSc in Psychological Approaches to Health (both from Leeds) and a BSc in Psychology (University of Manchester), they specialize in mixed-methods and qualitative health research. Their work focuses on improving clinical pathways and patient safety.
Research Interests: Their expertise spans applied health research with emphasis on patient involvement in safety initiatives. Current projects target the optimization of head and neck cancer diagnostic pathways through qualitative methods and process evaluations. Prior research at the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre (2018–2023) established their foundation in patient safety frameworks.
