Lauren Landfried is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Studies (2018), M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics (2012), and B.S. in Animal Science (2004). Her research focuses on sustainable agriculture, pediatric nutrition, and food security. She has led numerous grants totaling over $500,000, including projects on scaling local food access and addressing social determinants of health. Key achievements include being named a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2015) and receiving third place in the Missouri Public Health Association poster session (2015).
Her professional service includes roles in the U.S. Presidential Advisory Council on Antibiotic Resistance and leadership in the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Teaching responsibilities span courses like Sustainable Food Systems and Maternal and Child Nutrition. She has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work addressing antibiotic use in livestock and food insecurity interventions.
Community engagement includes founding the Gardens to Tables program and advising initiatives like the Gateway Elementary School Garden Project. Her academic excellence is underscored by awards such as the Doisy College Faculty Excellence in Service nomination (2014) and recognition as a Young Dietitian of the Year (2013).
