Lauren Coombs is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She serves as Deputy Programme Leader of the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies and Module Leader for Advanced Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. Her academic roles include teaching, clinical supervision, and delivering NHS Talking Therapies Supervisor Training.
Her research focuses on clinical supervision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists within NHS Talking Therapies Services, with particular expertise in trauma-focused therapies and clinical supervision skills. She maintains clinical practice as a Senior Psychotherapist within the NHS alongside her academic position.
Dr. Coombs holds accreditations as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies. She also serves as an EMDR consultant in training.
