Paula Fitzsimon

Paula Fitzsimon is a BABCP-accredited High Intensity Therapist and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She teaches in the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT program, providing clinical supervision and developing e-portfolio systems aligned with BABCP standards. Fitzsimon previously worked as a CBT Therapist in NHS IAPT services (2010-2021) and now runs a private practice.

Her research focuses on practical applications of cognitive behavioral therapy, including refugee mental health support through Arian Wellbeing and community-based interventions. Fitzsimon holds a BSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from University of Cumbria and Postgraduate Diplomas from University of Chester. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
