Laura Urbano

Laura Urbano is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Life and Medical Sciences. She leads the institution’s involvement in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Sciences. Her research focuses on lung biointerfaces, including novel diagnostics, drug delivery systems, and in vitro models. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from King's College London and a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Hertfordshire.

She collaborates widely, contributing to studies on lung immune responses and aerosol interactions with lung tissues.

Her recent publications highlight advancements in near-infrared imaging, phototoxicity mitigation, and intranasal vaccine formulations. She actively participates in interdisciplinary teams addressing challenges in drug delivery and environmental health impacts of atmospheric particles.
