معرفی
Dr. Aateka Bodhaniya is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire, affiliated with the School of Life and Medical Sciences and the Centre for Research into Topical Drug Delivery and Toxicology. Her research focuses on pulmonary pharmacology, nanomedicine safety, and inhalation drug delivery. She holds a BSc in Pharmacology from King’s College London (KCL, 2008) and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science from KCL (2013), with postdoctoral work at KCL’s Sackler Institute and the NC3Rs Crack-It Inhalation Project. Her work emphasizes alveolar macrophage responses to inhaled compounds, nanotoxicology, and developing novel treatments for respiratory diseases.
Research interests include drug-induced phospholipidosis, inhalation physiology, and high-content imaging techniques. Notable projects involve evaluating nanoplastic toxicity, comparing drug administration routes (e.g., aerosol vs oral), and applying DESI-MS for lung biomarker analysis. Collaborations span toxicology, analytical chemistry, and pharmaceutical science.
Publications highlight advancements in understanding nanoparticle-induced inflammation, macrophage vacuolation mechanisms, and drug delivery optimization. No scientific awards explicitly mentioned, but her work aligns with NC3Rs ethical research goals. She contributes to translational research bridging basic science and clinical applications in respiratory medicine.
