معرفی
Tobias Stöger is a Group Leader at the Institute of Lung Health and Immunity (LHI), Helmholtz Munich, where he leads the research group on "Dynamics of Pulmonary Inflammation." His career spans academic and industry sectors, including leadership roles at Ingenium Pharmaceuticals AG and prior research at the Helmholtz Zentrum München. He serves as an Associate Editor for Nanotoxicology and PLOS ONE, and chairs editorial boards for journals like Particle and Fibre Toxicology.
- Key Affiliations: Helmholtz Munich (2009–present), Helmholtz Zentrum München (2003–2008), Ingenium Pharmaceuticals AG (2001–2002)
Stöger's research investigates sterile inflammation mechanisms triggered by airborne stressors, particularly nanoparticles. His work explores particle-cell interactions in lung macrophages, using alveolar tissue culture models and reporter mouse strains with intravital microscopy (collaboration with Prof. Markus Rehberg). He also applies these insights to develop nanocarrier-based inhalation drug delivery systems.
Recent Publications highlight his focus on nanoparticle-induced viral reactivation, chronic inflammation prediction, and organoid models for hazard assessment. These studies span toxicology, immunology, and regenerative medicine, with subfields including epithelial differentiation, fibroblast activation, and systemic nanoparticle effects.
- Scientific Awards:
