Laura Scott Weatherby

Laura Scott Weatherby is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of York, where she has taught pre-registration nursing programmes since 2015. She serves on the Board of Studies and Fitness to Practise Committee. Her qualifications include Registered Mental Health Nurse (RNMH), BN (Hons) in Nursing Studies, MSc in Health Professional Education, and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research Focus: Laura specializes in improving mental healthcare systems for older adults and their caregivers, with additional emphasis on supporting service users experiencing complex health challenges. Her work intersects clinical practice, nursing education methodologies, and professional standards development.
