Sarah Tait is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at Swansea University’s School of Health and Social Care within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science. She holds a Registered Nurse Teacher (RNT) qualification and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her career spans over three decades, beginning as an Auxiliary Nurse in 1991, qualifying as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in 1995 and a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RNMH) in 2001. She later pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Health Professionals (2014) and an MA in Education for Health Professionals (2016).
- Teaching: Leads modules on Acute Care in Mental Health and Complex Care Management in Rapidly Changing Situations.
- Roles: Module leader for Advanced Practice and Education (MSc in Advanced Practice), clinical audits with Hywel Dda Health Board, and CAMHS workshop facilitator.
- External Examiner: Edge Hill University (2018–2022).
Her research interests focus on self-harm, suicide prevention, child and adolescent mental health, and innovative educational methodologies. She has authored/co-authored peer-reviewed articles on nursing education innovations and clinical supervision training.
Notable awards include the FHEA fellowship, reflecting her contributions to higher education. She actively collaborates with local health boards and delivers clinical supervision workshops to healthcare staff.
