Laura Sager

Laura Sager is a Clinical Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, specializing in employment and housing discrimination law. She leads litigation clinics, focusing on class actions challenging systemic discrimination, such as the landmark case invalidating New York City’s discriminatory firefighter test. Her research explores the taxation of civil rights awards and attorneys' fees, emphasizing the intersection of tax law and civil rights.

Education: BA from Wellesley College (1961), MA in History from Harvard University (1963), JD from UCLA School of Law (1968). She clerked for Judge Irving Hill and practiced litigation before joining NYU. Students in her clinic gain hands-on experience in discrimination cases involving race, gender, age, and disability.
