Laura McAtackney is Professor in the Radical Humanities Laboratory and Archaeology at University College Cork. Her research explores contemporary archaeology of conflict, institutions, colonialism, and gender, with current projects on Northern Ireland's peace process and Danish colonial heritage in St. Croix.
She holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin, University of Cambridge, and University of Bristol, with postdoctoral fellowships at Oxford and UCD. Her work addresses difficult heritage and lived experiences in Magdalene Laundries.
