Professor Laura Marsiliani is a faculty member at the Durham University Business School, specializing in Public Economics and Environmental Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from London Business School and has held academic positions at Tilburg University and the University of Rochester. Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental policy, public finance, and development economics, particularly in contexts like Bangladesh. She is affiliated with the Centre for Environmental and Energy Economics (CEEE) and has organized international conferences funded by the EU EURESCO Programme.
Professor Marsiliani teaches Environmental Economics and Public Economics at undergraduate and master’s levels, and supervises PhD students in Environmental and Energy Economics. She has contributed to the development of the MSc Economics Programme and the Dissertation Abroad Module. Her leadership roles include Chair of the MSc Board of Examiners and Diversity Champion. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and actively engages in community initiatives, including volunteer work with the NHS and social responsibility projects.
