Laura Kitchel

Laura Kitchel is an Associate Professor of Music at Capital University Conservatory of Music, where she specializes in Music Education and leads the treble ensemble Cantabile. She also coordinates the Master of Music in Music Education summer program.

• Education: BM in Music Education from Bowling Green State University, MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Kentucky, and PhD in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum with a Music Education emphasis from the University of Missouri.

Her research and teaching focus on Music Education, including pedagogical methods for elementary to high school levels, choral conducting techniques, and the psychological aspects of music learning. She has extensive experience presenting at national and state conferences, such as the National NAfME Conference and Music Research and Teacher Education National Conference.
