Laura Gordon is a research-led designer and educator at the Royal College of Art (RCA), where she currently serves as a Tutor on the MA Visual Communication program. She holds a Master's degree from the RCA (2015) and a Graphic Design undergraduate degree from the University of Brighton. Her academic career includes visiting lecturer roles at Kingston University, Chelsea College of Arts, and Camberwell College of Arts, alongside founding Crowd Talks, a design discussion group fostering dialogue between students, graduates, and industry professionals.
Her practice and research focus on visual communication's role in challenging social/political narratives, national identities, and fear of failure in creative education. She co-founded The Liminal Space, a creative consultancy translating complex ideas into tangible experiences. Key exhibitions include Britishness ® (2018–2019), exploring cultural identity through design, and contributions to ART 50 initiatives. Awards include the ReachOutRCA Residency and Sky Arts Art 50 recognition.
Publications span academic journals like Viewpoint Magazine and Modes of Criticism, addressing topics such as Brexit's graphic design implications and participatory research methods. Her work emphasizes socially engaged design practices and critical visual literacy.
