Dr. Laura Flannigan is Junior Research Fellow at St John's College, University of Oxford, and Stipendiary Lecturer in Early Modern History at Christ Church. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and specializes in Tudor political culture and royal justice systems.
Her research examines litigation practices, petitioning networks, and justice administration under Henry VII and Henry VIII. Awarded the 2020 Sir John Neale Prize for her work on Henry VIII's justice delivery systems, her publications analyze archival records from the Court of Requests and Council of the North.
Current projects investigate dispute narration in legal records and ecclesiastical influences on equity courts. She teaches Tudor-Stuart history and historical methods at undergraduate and graduate levels.
