Lars Keld Nielsen serves as Scientific Director at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability within the College of Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His research integrates quantitative modeling with experimental biology to advance sustainable biomanufacturing solutions.
His primary research interests span Metabolic Modeling, Systems Biology, and Bioreactor Engineering, with significant contributions to mammalian cell engineering and microbial biotechnology. Current work focuses on genome editing for metabolic optimization, computational modeling of bioreactor dynamics, and high-throughput metabolomics workflows.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals strong emphasis on industrial biotechnology applications, particularly in:
