Professor Larry T. Bates is a Professor of Law and holds the Gerald Reading Powell Chair in Advocacy at Baylor University's Baylor Law School. He transitioned to academia after nine years as a corporate bankruptcy specialist, advising on high-profile cases like Zales Jewelers and National Gypsum. His teaching focuses on Contracts, Commercial Law (including domestic/international sales and secured transactions), and he advises the Baylor Law Review.
