Justin Levitt

Justin Levitt is a Professor of Law and Gerald T. McLaughlin Fellow at Loyola Law School, part of Loyola Marymount University. He is a nationally recognized scholar in constitutional law, election law, and democracy studies, with expertise in voting rights, redistricting, and civil rights litigation. His career includes roles as Senior Policy Advisor for Democracy and Voting Rights at the White House (2021–2022), Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, and counsel at the Brennan Center for Justice. Levitt holds degrees from Harvard University: BA (magna cum laude), MPA (magna cum laude), and JD (magna cum laude).

His research focuses on electoral integrity, partisan gerrymandering, and voter access. He maintains the All About Redistricting resource and founded the Practitioner Moot Program, offering free appellate argument preparation for attorneys.
