Scott E. Thompson is a Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Lawyering Skills at Liberty University School of Law. He holds a J.D. magna cum laude from Regent University School of Law, an M.A. summa cum laude from Regent University School of Public Policy, and a B.A. from the University of Iowa.

Thompson’s research and teaching focus on Lawyering Skills, Civil Pre-trial Practice and Procedure, and Appellate Advocacy, with an emphasis on professional responsibility and advanced appellate training. His work addresses practical legal training, moot court pedagogy, and ethical litigation practices.
His publications span legal education and intellectual property, including a 2009 article on curriculum design in lawyering skills and a 2000 piece on trade dress in intellectual property law. These works reflect expertise in pedagogical innovation, appellate advocacy, and trademark law.

As Director of the Center for Lawyering Skills, he oversees a six-semester program integrating practical training, moot court mentorship, and professional ethics for Liberty University School of Law graduates.
