Page is the Curator of Ichthyology at the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida, and holds Affiliate Professorships in the Department of Biology and the School of Natural Resources and Environment. He earned a Ph.D. in Ichthyology from the University of Illinois. His research focuses on freshwater fish systematics, evolution, and ecology, with emphasis on taxonomy, phylogenetic relationships, and conservation of aquatic ecosystems. He leads projects such as the All Catfish Species Inventory and iDigBio, a National Science Foundation initiative digitizing biodiversity collections.
His work spans global field studies in Asia, Africa, and South America, particularly in Thailand’s Mae Klong River Basin, where he documents freshwater fish diversity. Recent accolades include AAAS Fellow (2019), American Fisheries Society Fellow (2018), and a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award (2020).
