Lara Maia-Pike

Dr. Lara Maia-Pike is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Education within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Her research focuses on Inclusive Education, Youth Aspirations, and issues related to Disability and Social Justice. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from QUT.

Her work addresses barriers to inclusive education, parent-teacher communication in disability contexts, and transition planning frameworks for students with disabilities. Key projects include analyzing societal and systemic drivers of educational equity, as well as global comparative studies on inclusive practices.

Her recent publications explore topics like parent perspectives on teacher communication, international inclusive education policies, and student aspirations in Queensland schools. These contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and reduced inequalities.

Lara is affiliated with QUT's Centre for Inclusive Education and actively engages in scholarly networks through ORCID and Scopus. She has contributed to HDR supervision and professional learning programs focused on inclusive pedagogies.
