Associate Professor Julie King is a critical medical anthropologist and social work educator at the University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the School of Psychology and Wellbeing. Her expertise bridges social work, public health, and human rights advocacy, with a focus on gender, disability, and climate change impacts. She also holds an adjunct appointment at QUT's Centre for Justice.

She has supervised 10 HDR students and led over 40 DFAT consultancies.

Julie designed the Journey Access Tool (JAT) with Humanity and Inclusion (HI) to improve disability access in Cambodia. Her current roles include Program Director for Social Work Honours and Associate Head of School (Research).
