Laoura Englezou

Laoura Englezou is a spatial designer, educator, and academic leader currently serving as Director of Content for Fashion and Design at Regent’s University London. Previously, she was Course Leader for BA (Hons) Interior Design (2017-2024) and Senior Lecturer (2014-2017) at the same institution. Her academic career spans over 15 years across Central Saint Martins, University of Westminster, and American InterContinental University London, with extensive experience in curriculum development and program leadership.

Her educational credentials include a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching in Art, Design & Communication from University of the Arts London, MA in Housing and Urbanism from Architectural Association, and BA (First Class Honours) in Arts & Design (Spatial Design) from Central Saint Martins where her thesis 'Nicosia Dead Zone' pioneered spatial narrative methodologies for conflict zones.

Englezou's research centers on urban analysis and spatial design with documented projects in London, Nicosia, Berlin, Beirut, Barcelona, Shanghai, and Tehran. She investigates community identity in built environments through architectural urbanism frameworks, specializing in conflict zone design strategies. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes client-facing projects that integrate cultural, social, and economic implications of design into student learning through initiatives like the ID SALON guest lecture series and live community partnerships.

Her professional recognition includes Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and membership in Interior Educators UK. She actively contributes to academic quality assurance as External Examiner for BA Environment Design at Xiamen University and Link Tutor for DOMUS Academy Milan Master's programs.
