Lanhee J. Chen, Ph.D., is the David and Diane Steffy Fellow in American Public Policy Studies at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, where he also serves as Director of Domestic Policy Studies in the Public Policy Program. He is an Affiliate of the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies and a presidentially-appointed, Senate-confirmed member of the Social Security Advisory Board.
Chen earned his education from Harvard University, including:
- Ph.D. and A.M. in Political Science
- J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School
- A.B. magna cum laude in Government
His research focuses on interdisciplinary policy analysis, with expertise in:
