Ronald C. Chen is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. His expertise lies in Mergers & Acquisitions, particularly in the technology sector, corporate governance, and shareholder activism. He holds an A.B. summa cum laude from Harvard College (economics), an M.Sc. in Economic and Social History and an M.B.A. from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Chen has served as a Staff Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and a Visiting Attorney at Google and Hengeler Mueller. He co-chairs the International Bar Association’s Mergers & Acquisitions in the Technology Sector conference.
His research focuses on systemic racial inequities in housing and urban policy, as evidenced by his co-authored report Disinvestment of San Francisco’s African American Community 1970-2022, which examines historical displacement and policy failures affecting Black communities.
