Lamprini Mangiorou

Lamprini Mangiorou is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director for the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton, affiliated with the School of Psychology within the Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Counselling Psychologist.

• Education: DPsych in Counselling Psychology, PGCert in Higher Education and Professional Practice, PGCert in Integrated Mental Health, BSc (Hons) in Psychology, EMDR-Level 1 certification

Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies, therapeutic relationships (including intersubjectivity and countertransference), mental health, social justice, and the use of dreams in therapy. She supervises doctoral research projects, including topics like bereavement, complex trauma, ethnocultural countertransference, self-compassion in adolescents, and experiences of living with a partner in prison.

Lamprini combines clinical practice with academic supervision, supporting doctoral trainees toward accreditation while maintaining active involvement in mental health research. Her career spans over 15 years in NHS psychology services, the third sector, and higher education.
