Dr. Ladan Hashemi is a Senior Research Fellow in Health Sciences at the Violence and Society Centre under the School of Policy & Global Affairs and a Senior Lecturer in the Sociology of Health at the School of Health and Medical Sciences, both at City, St George's University of London. She also holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellow position at the University of Auckland since 2023.

Her interdisciplinary research combines quantitative methods from social science and epidemiology, focusing on gender-based violence, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and their long-term impacts on health disparities and societal outcomes. She has led large-scale studies like the UKPRP-funded VISION consortium on violence and health, and international projects in Iran and New Zealand to inform policy.
Her 15 most recent publications (2021–2025) analyze ACEs and childhood obesity, intimate partner violence, health inequities, and policy implications for violence prevention. Notable trends include gender-stratified health outcomes, intergenerational trauma, and epidemiological models for public health interventions.
