Kyle Chaput is an Associate Professor of Art specializing in Printmaking and Drawing at Baylor University's Department of Art and Art History, housed within the College of Arts & Sciences. His work explores themes of chronic illness and the socio-environmental dynamics of 'border' life, particularly in the Rio Grande Valley. He holds a BFA from Fort Hays State University and an MFA from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where he studied under Bruno Andrade in the Albers color theory tradition.
Chaput has participated in over seventy juried/exhibitions, served as an art juror across four states, and contributed as a contract printer. His prints are featured in multiple public/private collections, earning several unlisted awards and honors. His studio practice interrogates fragmented communities and personal stability through symbolic vessels and abandoned landscapes.
No academic articles or grants are explicitly detailed in the provided text, though his artistic research engages interdisciplinary themes of identity and place. Contact via FAC167 HSFAC office or Kyle_Chaput@baylor.edu.
