Kwasi Wrensford is a Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia (UBC), affiliated with the Department of Zoology and Biodiversity Research Centre within the Faculty of Science. He is part of the Gaynor Lab and focuses on understanding how individual behavioral traits and habitat preferences in mammals influence population-level responses to environmental change, particularly climate change. His work integrates computational and field-based approaches.
His research interests include animal behavior, climate change impacts, ecology, and conservation biology. He explores how decision-making at the individual level shapes broader ecological outcomes, such as species range shifts. Recent studies involve montane chipmunks, Sierra Nevada ecosystems, and Cape hares.
While no formal grants or advising roles are highlighted, his research contributes to conservation strategies and coexistence with wildlife under global change. He maintains affiliations with the Gaynor Lab and Biodiversity Research Centre, advancing interdisciplinary approaches to biodiversity challenges.
